Abstract

Este artigo tem por objetivo responder à seguinte questão: a atuação do Conselho de Transparência Pública e Combate à Corrupção incide no processo de accountability federal? Como marco conceitual e teórico, o trabalho assume a abordagem da accountability preconizada por Santos (1999), que extrapola o entendimento da matéria como algo que vai além da prestação de contas pelos gestores da coisa pública e inclui os mecanismos, normativos e atos institucionais, que se empregam nas relações entre os níveis de governo e dentro deles no conceito da accountability. A revisão de literatura, longe de ser exaustiva, aborda o conceito de accountability, a importância da accountability para a democracia e discorre sobre suas limitações no atual cenário político. Em caráter complementar, trata da institucionalização do CTPCC, sua composição e atribuições.
