O presente ensaio presenta uma série de reflexões sobre o direito humano de acesso à informação na era digital e ao fenômeno das falsas notícias ou fake news, o qual perturba a certeza e veracidade que, como pressupostos lógicos-necessários subjazem àquele direito fundamental. Além, nesse contexto, se reflexiona sobre o papel do Estado mas, sobre tudo, dos meios e dos periodistas como autores que têm a possibilidade de incidir na construção de certezas úteis às pessoas e duma consciência social através duma opinião pública devida e verazmente informada no decurso do exercício da labor periodística, isto, com a finalidade de fazer fronte ao fenômeno das notícias falsas.
