This article aims to discuss the production of knowledge on social management from the practices of the Belém Social Observatory (OSB). Social observatories can be set up by national and local governments, universities and civil society organizations. A basic principle among them is to systematically monitor the functioning of a specific sector or theme. Considering that knowledge is produced through social interactions, the study was based on bibliographic research whose discussions permeated the themes that involve social management, the production of sociopractic knowledge focusing on the dynamics of social control observatories. The documentary research was another instrument of data collection used whose findings contributed to observe that the production of knowledge about social management at the heart of the (OSB) occurs in spaces for discussion, dialogue and also clashes, which induce reflection between the actors involved in the context of fair and sustainable cities. However, it was found that there is sometimes little information disseminated which makes the dialogue less qualified and brings great challenges for the production of knowledge in a shared way.Downloads
